"Equal Rights" exprime la radicalité politique de Peter Tosh qui incarne alors totalement la rebel music jamaïcaine. Malheureusement la vie mouvementée du "stepping razor" (rasoir ambulant : "Je suis le plus dur, le rasoir ambulant, je suis dangereux") prendra fin tragiquement quand il sera assassiné chez lui, près de Kingston, en 1987... le 11 septembre !
